My Experience

My career has been built around one consistent thread: helping organizations turn ideas into clarity, momentum and connection. I’ve built communications functions from scratch, guided leaders through change, and developed strategies, campaigns, and narratives that help people understand, trust and engage with the organizations behind them.


Here’s a look at the work I’ve led and the environments I’ve helped shape.

James Avery Artisan Jewelry

Integrated Communications Leadership & Creative Strategy


I built the company’s communications function from the ground up — launching social media as a one-person operation and creating the brand’s digital voice, tone, and presence from scratch. What started as social media quickly grew into something much larger: shaping how the brand communicated across channels, platforms, and audiences.


Over time, my role expanded to include website content and reviews, influencer strategy, brand ambassador programs, public relations, executive messaging and integrated campaigns. I built and led a cross-functional team responsible for social strategy, customer content, digital campaigns and corporate communications — helping the organization move from isolated channels to a more connected, intentional communications ecosystem.


Alongside building structure and systems, I brought a strong creative lens to the work — developing ideas, campaign concepts and promotional strategies that helped drive engagement, visibility and connection. My role evolved into enterprise communications leadership, partnering closely with executive leadership, legal, HR and operations to guide messaging, manage high-visibility moments and build long-term trust in the brand.

Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals

Strategic Communications & Advocacy Storytelling


I led communications for a statewide healthcare advocacy organization, supporting member engagement, policy awareness and organizational storytelling. My work focused on helping complex healthcare and policy issues feel understandable, human and accessible through newsletters, publications, executive messaging and stakeholder communications.


I brought both structure and creativity to the role — developing communication systems while also shaping narratives and campaigns that supported advocacy efforts and strengthened alignment across member hospitals.

Keller Williams Realty, Inc.

Foundational Digital Strategy, Education & Creative Leadership


I played a foundational role in the company’s early adoption of social media, helping define how the organization entered the digital communication space. I created corporate, division and executive social profiles, including platforms for the company’s publishing division and company-authored best-selling books.


I developed training materials, strategic guides, and webinars and led organization-wide education to help leaders and agents understand how to use social media and personal brand as tools for growth. I also spoke at company-hosted industry conferences, teaching strategy, digital storytelling and promotion during a time when social media for business was still new.


Beyond systems and platforms, I focused on ideas — helping shape early content strategies, promotional concepts and communication approaches that positioned the organization as an agent-first leader in digital adoption. Executives looked to me for direction as the company navigated change, growth and transformation.

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco

Mission-Driven Communications & Community Engagement


I directed communications for a leading youth development organization, focusing on storytelling that strengthened donor relationships, community trust, and stakeholder engagement. I led the development of annual reports, newsletters and publications, and partnered closely with leadership and program teams to communicate impact, outcomes and mission in meaningful ways.

Corporate Communications & Internal Messaging


I supported communications for the mutual funds business, working across internal messaging, stakeholder communications and regulatory-aligned content. I helped shape announcements, publications and communications that balanced clarity, compliance and trust.

Target Corporation, Mervyn’s Division

Internal Communications & Organizational Alignment


I supported internal communications for one of the nation’s largest retailers, helping teams stay informed, aligned and engaged across fast-moving operations. My work included organizational announcements, leadership messaging, speech writing and communications planning tied to culture and engagement

Community Visibility & Organizational Storytelling


I led communications supporting community awareness, fundraising initiatives and organizational visibility across the Houston area. My work focused on connecting mission to message — developing storytelling, campaigns and publications that helped deepen community engagement and support.

Agency Communications & Integrated Campaigns


I supported integrated communications campaigns across corporate, consumer and nonprofit clients — contributing to media relations, messaging, storytelling and campaign execution across high-visibility accounts.
